Hello, my name is Tomás. I am a chef, artist, and writer, and I came to this world to heal my body and soul, to feel at home in my body, feel safe, and peaceful. And 'most importantly', to enjoy the tastiest, most beautifully and soulfully crafted food.

I was born in Cali, Colombia to a family of chefs and doctors.

I grew up in Paris, and my quest to give meaning to my existence, find my place in this world, and taste this delightful connection with life has led me to live in Tokyo, Rio, New York, Los Angeles, and travel the world.

Through food, breathing, sound, movement, sport, and any activity that brings me back to the present moment through my body, I receive knowledge and pleasure from being here on Earth and being human, and able to heal and help others heal as well makes me come alive.

At Fuego Ancestral (my gut health foods company in Bogotá) we offer a variety of foods, medicinal plants, bone broths, jun kombucha, adaptogenic and pre-workout blends.

I have created these formulas and recipes inspired by cities, friends, and nourishing medicinal traditions from around the world. Amazonian traditions, traditional Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, and the latest longevity and wellness scientific research.

I have been cooking and creating art since I was 8 years old, and life has taken me on this path of healing, creation, and enjoyment through the reconnection with my body, emotions, and the natural world in a journey that has been demanding and deeply challenging at times.

I specialized in inner health out of sheer necessity. Healing one's body is generally speaking faster than healing one's soul.

This journey took me around the world until I ended up in New York, where I started producing "Beyond Food The Movie," a documentary that I released worldwide from Los Angeles in 2017, capturing the adventure of my desperate search for answers and healing.

It was in LA in 2016-2017 that I created my first fermented chili sauce, a fusion of recipes from Thailand and Mexico, and my inspiration. At that time, "Fuego Ancestral" was still called "Ancient Fire."

My main purpose is to offer you a delicious medicine that integrates ancestral traditions of vital energy care in our world today, supported by all available science.

These foods reach your palate thanks to an ecosystem of relationships that spans the soil, the specialists who care for it, the farmers, all the teams along the way until they reach our kitchen and, finally, your home and your body.

As we say in "Fuego Ancestral," we do everything with love, not for love, so we care for this ecosystem with love and gratitude.

I wish you health, and the ability to enjoy and take care of your body and this sacred, delicious life.

Tomás
